The longest-standing formally recognized MUAYTHAI Federations in the world, World MUAYTHAI Council (WMC), International Federation of MUAYTHAI Amateur (IFMA) together with the Federation of AMATEUR MUAYTHAI ASIA (FAMA).

OMF - Oceania MUAYTHAI Federation
Oceania MUAYTHAI Federation The Oceania Federation of the World Muaythai Council ("WMC") has been given the task by the WMC of representing the sport of MUAYTHAI in Australia, New Zealand and our surrounding island neighbours.
Currently, there are well over 100 member nations of the WMC.
The Oceania Federation is a "not for profit" association. Our aim is to support the sport of MUAYTHAI whilst maintaining stringent standards to ensure participant safety.
International Federation of MUAYTHAI Amateur (IFMA) is now a member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF). GAISF membership means IFMA and the WMC are regarded by the rest of the sporting world including FIFA, FINA and the IRB as the sole world governing body for the sport of MUAYTHAI.

WMC - World MUAYTHAI Council
WMC - World MUAYTHAI Council The World MUAYTHAI Council (WMC) was founded to propagate and promote MUAYTHAI as a professional sport. The WMC works closely with IFMA and AMAT to coordinate all levels of the sport. The WMC is the authorative body for regulating MUAYTHAI, both in Thailand and around the world. The WMC is incorporated by the Royal Thai Government and sanctioned by the Sports Authority of Thailand. The President is the Honorary President of the OCT and former Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Army. It was incorporated by the Royal Thai government and sanctioned by the SAT on its inauguration in September 1995.

The Council has been charged with the responsibility for expansion of MUAYTHAI worldwide. This involves supporting youth interest and athletes to learn the skills of MUAYTHAI and to assist in the pursuit of excellence in the art.

The Council’s primary objective is to maintain and promote excellence in the art of MUAYTHAI. This is primarily as a cultural art-form but also as a form of self-defence and as a popular ring-sport. Together with the above stated aims, the WMC has the government’s directive to regulate all MUAYTHAI competitions world wide, this in accordance with the government-approved Articles of Association.
The tradition of MUAYTHAI is rooted deep in Thai culture and dates back to over 1000s of years ago. Fostering MUAYTHAI as part of Thai culture is then the primary aim of the WMC. The overwhelming responsibility of the Council is to bring all international MUAYTHAI organisations under one regulatory council in order to promote and preserve MUAYTHAI.

In recent years, MUAYTHAI has undergone a huge surge of interest. As other forms of martial arts become popular, we can see MUAYTHAI growing exponentially. Membership is open to all associations, clubs, federations, councils or organizations established with similar principles to those of the Council when they are constituted legally under their own governments.

World MUAYTHAI Council

The Council not only enforces equality in all matches and is the sole body for sanctioning for championship bouts of a world standard. The WMC has a worldwide membership of 109 countries on all 5 different continents. All of these are working together to hold shows, events, seminars, instructor’s courses and referee and judges’ courses to further increase the standards of M MUAYTHAI abroad.
The Head Office of the WMC is at the Olympic Compound in Bangkok where the Thailand-related affairs are dealt with and the international office in the heart of Bangkok. The President is the former Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Army and Honorary President of the Olympic Committee of Thailand, General Chetta Thanajaro.
Executive Board members come from over 50 countries from all continents. The WMC is a very democratic organization and elections are held at the World meeting every two years.

IFMA - International Federation of MUAYTHAI Amateurs
International Federation of MUAYTHAI Amateurs
Formed in 1990, IFMA started as a small federation with several enthusiastic countries more than a decade ago. The federation can claim over 110 member countries worldwide with 5 continental federations under a sole and unified IFMA regulatory body.
The IFMA offices as the world governing body arrange National, Continental and World Championships.
The main objective of the IFMA is to unite all national federations in working mutually for the sport and the athletes. The enthusiasm and commitment of the members, boxers and officials are the greatest assets that IFMA brings to this ancient sport of MUAYTHAI.
